Opening 2 files with the same Data model (memory)

Hi all.

Lets say i have 4 reports that need the same Data model.

2 options

1. I create one file with all reports. File consumes 100kg of memory.

2. I create 2 files. 1 with 2 reps and the other with the remaining 2.

Question, is memory consumption (forget baout caching) going to be 2x100 = 200kgs?

4 persons 1 application of 100k = 1x100k + 3x10% = 130k total

4 persons 2 applications of 100k = 1x100k + 1x10% + 1x100k + 1x10% = 220k total

Taking 10% for session size, though this can be smaller (varies between 1 an 10% of the base memory footprint of an app).

But 2 applications that do only a binary load on THE SAME FILE will consume twice the amount of memory of the DM .

is that correct?

Propably yes. But Section access is already complex without adding that on it. (users seeing different sheets, this is what you mean, right?)

Creating 4 into 1 is more useful when it comes to user access and memory utilization.

As Onno shared and as per Qliktech, it takes 10% more of 1st user for 2nd user and so on for all next user..

The question is

if i split one qv file into 2 files (split the page si mean). would this require 2 times the memory?

Initial it was only 2 users so consumption was 100+10 = 110kg

New consmption would be 2x100kg?

Since you are having two QVW's, you talking about two files, so two times the memory.

But if both are exactly the same data, why not keep it one file?

Via Section Access you can show or hide some charts or sheets or even a field.

That is sort of what I exactly explained in my first post .

The first user always results in the full memory footprint of the app (so in this case 100). All other users of the same app cost 5-10% (for easiness of calculation take 10%) of the initial memory footprint.

So 2 users will be 100 + 1x10% = 110.

10 users will be 100 + 9x10% = 190.

1001 users will be 100 + 1000x10% = 10100.
