Duplicate records in Assigned CALs

Hi Community

When i show for which user i have added a CAL, then most of them have two entries in here. But it's still count one Count per User

Can someone explain that or have the same problem?

Hello Philipp,

I've not encountered this situation before, but the following checks may help:

Check your version of the QlikView Server and if there have been any bug fixs since your version that may be related to this issue.

Check your PGO files are in sync, specifically the CalData.pgo

The first is located in the Root folder as set in your QVS, such as C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents

the second is located in the folder C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer

You could also check in the QMC under Users, try searching for an example user such as Christoph Goeker to see if the user is returned twice.

They should only show once, so that might point to a problem with your configuration.

Other than that you might need to contact Qlik support to see what is going on.

Does it help if you restart the QlikView Management Service?

May be the two entries are one who are Leasing License as well.

Hi Philipp,

Ask your backup team to restore all .PGO files to the said locations. Ask your team to restore from the day before you observed.

It may solve your issue.

at first i think the same, but i have some Users who didn't a licence lease and they are duplicated two.

Version of QV-Server is 11.2 SR8 and i didn't found a bug fix or something else for this problem

the pgo-files are in sync

When i search the user in the qmc i only find one entrie for each user.

Can this Problem happen when i have a development- and a productiv-server and some users have access to both servers?

I checked this and find, that all users who are duplicated have an other account on our development server.

Can Qlikview not differentiate between to servers in the QMC?

No, this should not be the case... DEV and PROD are 2 different servers, they may have same users bt this should nt happened.

Just for clarification:

This view is System/Licences - Selecting a QVS - Client Access Licenses (CALs)/Assigned CALs right?

And you see your two parallell QVS (DEV and PROD) in the left listbox?

Is the same info shown regardless which QVS you select i the listbox?

No i don't see the same info for every QVS. For the DEV i see less user.

In this view the Management Service will only fetch data for the select QVS.

To verify that the CalData.pgo also has the same information as you are seeing in the Management Console, you can add a setting to the QVS.

In Settings.ini, default location C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer, add PgoAsXmlAlso=1 under [Settings 7]. You need to stop QVS while changing this.

This will make the QVS to also create a live copy of the pgo file in a nice readable XML format (located beside the pgo files).

Please try this out to figure out if the duplicates resides in the PGO file or within the QVS code.

Remember to remove this setting once you have completed this test.

Do the users have accounts in two different domains?

If you hover the mouse over the username it should show domain\username. Check this against a duplicate.
