No alert mail on job fail

Hi. I have a Qlikview server running 11.20 SR6 (no publisher). I want to setup so that i get an email when a job fails, but it doesnt work.

I have set up the SMTP settings under Mail Server. I can also send testmail to myself without issue. However when a job crashes, i get no email. I have entered my email adress under System->Qlikview Server->Alert Email.

I have forgotten something? Is there any logs i can check or something?

Hi Gustav,

Unfortunately the "test email" part is not using the exact same code when trying out this feature. Make sure you fill out login credentials to the mailserver properly and see if it works with a different account. A screenshot would help if it doesn't work.

Alright, is there any logs that i cacn check to see that its "trying" to send, but get an error?

Hi,

Look at the below path for logs.

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log.

Try by restarting QlikView server once.

Im looking in the task log for anything that has anything to do with "mail". But I cannot find anything. What am i looking for?

Go to the same task which fail and check.

what does log say?

Try by restarting server.

Gustav,

For any chance did you create the task in question first, prior implementing the QMC mail server?

If you did, you just need to open the task again, hit apply, and try again and see if you receive the email.

Hi,

Make sure don´t have email address in both Send all emails to and in Send test emails to in the Mail server config window.

If you have email try by removing that.

Please check Tasklog if there is an entry were you can see an alertmail being sent
