Display a task chain?

Is it possible to display a task chain that includes all the triggers?

QMC shows the 'next' possible trigger.

What I would like to see is a full list of all documents, their triggers, and how they relate to each other.

Hi James,

The closest thing would be to expand all. Right click on "QDS@servername" on the Tasks Status page in the QMC (front page), and select "Expand All".

It will still only show your names for the tasks, not the source document file names. You need to browse Documents > Source Documents for this, and if you can't find the source document in their just search for the task name.

Something you can use is the Governance Dashboard, that would help you get a better overview and not having to look in each logfile separate

I found that the Governance Dashboard shows the last run and complete list of tasks. What I do not see is a forecast of what will run over the next 24 hours, 7 days, etc.

Yes, this is the full list of tasks that I have scheduled. However, if a task has the external (EDX) option enabled, the next run time shows 'On EDX'.

Hi James,

If the task is triggered by EDX, the QMC has no idea when it is supposed to start the next time, it is just standing by for triggers from an external application. There is no way to tell the QMC that e.g. "in 2 hours you will start by the EDX trigger". Such metadata is currently not integrated in the product, but feel free to add it as a suggestion

If you go to C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\Workorders\

these workorders contain information about tasks, and the Recurrence type they have

I understand that QMC would not know what to display for EDX. However, if I have more than one trigger, and EDX is one of those triggers, QMC displays the 'next scheduled' event as EDX - instead of the next scheduled trigger.

Hi James,

It would be a matter of architecture of the product. Should it show "EDX trigger" as the next event or an actual time-set trigger? In general, the EDX trigger could "always" be first as the QMC does not know when the next EDX triggered event would happen.

I doubt this would be considered a bug, but if you feel otherwise please contact Qlik Support and an investigation can be done.

The visualization you are asking for is not there, but I think the base data is there to create a chart like you describe. The tool also provides other approaches to examine the task and trigger structure.
