QMC does not open in Windows 2012 server

Hello,

I have done a new install of Qlikview 11.20 SR3 on windows 2012 Server. I could not open QMC on the server, however when I tried QMC (http://servername:4780/qmc/default.htm) on my local machine I can access QMC and change all the settings. The same is happening to AccessPoint.

I have added my login to both Administrators and Qlikview Administrator Group on the server. Firewall is disabled.

Attached is the error I get on the server.

Can someone please shed some light on what could be causing the QMC not opening on the server.

I guess its some issue with IE 10.. Try with Mozilla or Chrome and check if it works..

Not sure if it has to do with IE 10. As I could open QMC on my machine with IE10 browser.

On the server console or in an RDP-session to the server, try with:

http: //localhost:4780/qmc/default.htm

(first remove the space before the slashes, moderation will kick in if it detects a non qlik.com url)

I did try the url on rdp of the server , still could not open the qmc. Below is the error i get-

Any other thoughts?

Thanks Peter- That worked. Now I can open QMC by typing above address in IE browser on server. However when in try to launch QMC from Apps >Qlikview >Qlikview Management Console ,I still get the same error even though it shows same URL (with same port)

Same thing happens when trying to open Access point from Apps on windows 2012 server. Any idea why this could be?

No, none at all. That's weird. Are you sure both URLs are the same? Check Apps->QlikView->QlikView Management Console (rightmouseclick)->Properties->Shortcut->Target or whatever it's called on Windows 2012.

Usually Windows server platforms perform some extra security checks on foreign URLs. But localhost should be exempted from these checks.

I checked the Properties of the Target and it is pointing to same url-

I am not sure what else I am missing at this point.

Hello Kalyan,

Did you ever figure out the problem loading the QMC from the icon?

As you say the localhost address should work fine all the time, but for some reason it does not.

After I modified the setting in IE >>Programs >>Choose how you open links to 'Let Internet Explorer decide', the QMC link is working. Hope this helps
