How do we use Share Session (Collaboration) with QV11?

I cannot find it any where in access point.

Click on the 'Availability' tab under User Documents:

Then, in your document, click the share session button (must be webview):

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response. I followed alll these and also turn my app on webview but i cannot see same app on webview via access point.

Do i need to set something else on access point as well?

Hi,

This feature will work only via AJAX Client. If you use IE Plug-in it will not work. This is the limitation.

Choose fullbrowser option in access point when you open the dashboard.

Hi Chirag,

The only other thing that I can think of it to make sure to reload the document from the QMC. If that doesn't work, then I'm stuck, too.

Hi guys,

turning on Session Collaboration requires a TWO-STEP approach:

First, enable Sessiuon Collaboration GLOBALLY. In QMC, go to System->Setup->QlikView Servers->Server name->Documents->Server and mark the next-to-last check box called "Allow Session Collaboration"
Next, enable Session Collaboration INDIVIDUALLY for each document you want to share. In QMC (No publisher), go to Documents->User documents->document name->Availability and check the last check box called "Session Collaboration". See Mike's post for a screenshot.

Only those documents with a marked check box will get the extra menu bar item.

I have done all that setting(see below) but still cannot see session sharing.

This is a web view of document without session sharing option.

What version of QVS are you running? A bug with root folder/mounted folder naming has been fixed in SR4. This bug blocked the display of the "Share Session" option in the Ajax toolbar.

Do your folder names contain things like .XXXX?

QV11 and 11.2 installations will cooperate nicely. However it's always better to install the latest version everywhere due to performance improvements, reductions in memory consumption and the massive amount of bug fixes. And 11.2 offers you new features like Direct Discovery.

I would advise to upgrade both server and desktop(s) to 11.2SR4.

My pleasure.

Not really. To this date I haven't received any signals about a Beta or its availability. I think the next QV in one form or another won't be available until Q1 or Q2 next year.

In any case, it may be preferable to upgrade to another QV11 release, as:

the effort is minimal, the wins are substantial (bug fixes!)
QV11 will be supported for another 3 years.
The next QV has a different architecture that may require you to rethink or re-engineer some or all of your current applications

I would migrate to SR4. But of course this is a decision you have to make for yourself.

Still the same.

I didn't get any Share session dropdown at top when i access the accesspoint. At top my name with Favourites and Profile is visible. Is it visible somewhere else?

The Share session-option will only be visible if you open your document. If you did all the QMC configuration work for a particular document, go to the AccessPoint and open that specific document. The Share session-button will be displayed in the toolbar at the top.
