License lease issue

Hi All,

I am trying to lease a licence on a qlikview desktop but its not working.

When i use Open in Server option from Qlikview desktop the it throws an error as below.

Any idea why this is happening?

USER CAL is not assigned to you. Please ask your QV Admin to assign a CAL for you.

Hi,

that new server is not yet activated. I am using it for storage purpose.

In order to lease the license from the server, the respective server should be activated with the valid license.

But I am just working on QV desktop.. and in the last week I was able to lease it.

If so your server is activated. You have to ask you QVAdmin to lease the license.

My server is not activated, I mean neither as a publisher nor as a Server even before this also..

Yes, But we have not activated anything on this new server so no CALs are there.

If so it's not at all possible to lease the license.

I guess..You were able to open the file with out any issues because the Qlikview Desktop will allow opening the file which is developed by other users for 4 times ( There is a key associated with each installation).
