Is it possible to send email alerts from qlikview QEMC

Hi Experts,

Is it possible to send email alerts whenever a task running in QEMC is finnished or failed...

If it is possible, how could we do that.. or if it is not possible is there any other way to acomplish this kind of requirement...

If you configure the recipient's email address under QEMC --> System --> Distribution Service --> Alert Email, . If a task fails the recipient will get an email with a log snippet.

What version of QVS are you using? Do you have a publisher license?

As for sending start and successful completion messages, I'm not sure if there is some way to add it to the load script. You can code e-mail in a macro, but you can't call macros when the document is reloaded through the distribution service.

Hi All,

I have set up the mail server and the test mail is properly being sent. I am using Qlikview 11 server. After giving email in Alert Email, I am not getting emails.

Is there anything needs to be done in task except giving email in QMC-->System-->Distribution Service-->Alert Email.

If you are using Microsoft AD you can send an email to the people the document is being distribute to that the document has been refresh. This is setup under the Distribution Services setup.

Hi Britt,

I found the solution of my question for sending refresh mail to specific administrator of that application. This functionality can be achieve via sending mail through Qlikview application itself but not through Qlikview server.

After configuring mail server under Settings->User preference-> Mail, we can create an alert of sending mail to a specific person after every successful reload. The only option which needs to check while publishing file on server is Alert mode. It should be batch mode.

Hi Bill,

I haven't received any reply on my question regarding this in the developers thread. I hope you can help me. A month ago we have upgraded from QV9 SR4 to QV11 SR1 and we stopped receiving emails for failed reloads. I can't see a Distribution Service portion in the QMC. Btw, we do not have the QEMC since the upgrade.

We have something similar under System > Mail Server and we set the host name and the from address. We have also set aler email recipients in the QVS Alert tab.

What have we missed. Thank you,

There is a Distribution Services folder under the QMC. The QlikView Server Manual (V11 SR2) has a picture on page 115 under section 19.3. Sorry, I don't have a V11 instance yet.

It looks like the tab 'Alert E-mail' is what your looking for.

No, I know where it is and I set up three email accounts there. When I go to the Mail Server and enter my address into the "Send test e-mail to" field and click Send I do not get an email. The Distribution Services service is started automatically.

If the 'Mail Server' settings we're configured correctly, then it sounds like a bug.

What message displays on the screen when you perform the test?

Hi, I am using the QV 11 SR2 in QA and Production. QA is standalone server and Email server just works fine and sends out an email. However Production is clustered box and Task failure shows up with a warning message mentioned below. Any help is appreciated?

No. However, you can create a Windows Task job with a batch script to look for 'Last modified time' of the QVW and send email alerts to the specific group if the QVW fail to refresh within the particular or expected time interval.

Hi,

If you are sending out an alert to a group, that group has to have an email address setup for it.
