Named CAL Doubt

Hi All,

I need some clarification on license allocation.

e.g. I have allocated the NAMED cal access to one user and provided the Authorization to access multiple applications.

For how much applications we can able to provide the authorization.?

Which one is the best option whether providing of the 2 doc cal to 2 applications or 1 Named cal with 2 authorizations?

Hopefully requirement is clear.

If the user is having named Cals assigned than he/she can access multiple numbers of applications .

with named you can open all the qlik doc (applications) you want, no limit

named or document?

check the price named vs document; I usually go for a named if a user needs more than 3 doc

With named CAL - there is no limit of number of application a user can access.

If a user is supposed to access 3 or less number of applications, allocate doc CALs for him/her; more than 3 apps, better give a named CAL. This is CAL pricing based optimization.

Hi,

Named Cal works like you can say 1: N ratio

1 Named can can open any number of Document.

Document Cal works like you can say 1: 1 ratio

1 Document can can open 1 QlikView Document.

If a user have access to more then 3 document I would suggest you to give him a Named cal instead of Document Cal.

With the named Cal the user can access all models on your deploy folder

Document Cals the user can only access the document which you have provided the license for.

Depending on how many licenses you have it is easier admin to provide the user with Named Cals

Yes,

But with only one active at a time.

Hi,

Without depending on the license the users can access only one active machine at a time and if they are try to to login in other machine with the same ID then the first login machine will get the some error message(may be some tunnel kind of).

Correct me if am wrong.
