What is the difference ,if I open an application through open in server using Qlikview desktop

Hi,

The prime difference is

Access Point you can not edit your application

But in Qlikview Desktop you can

When you Open in Access Point the license either needs to be allocated to you or you are assigned a license dynamically by the qlikview management console depending on your settings...

Its same as that you use in your AJAX browser.

With open in server you can lease License too.

Max you can't even go to script editor.

If you open your application by File open in server.

Hi,

There will be no such difference in speed.

As both of then use ajax client.

There will be slight variation in performance if you use IE pluggin.

But that is very minimal.

it means access point performance is slightly good as compare to Qv Desktop

I would say Access point with IE pluggin will perform better then opening file via desktop file --> open in server.

Which is none other then AJAX client.

HI,

If you open in server from the desktop or used the plugin you are talking directly to the QVS on port 4747, There could be better performance because you are not using the AJAX client. However, with the Desktop/Plugin you are doing stuff client side where with AJAX everything is done server side.

Please note if you are opening the document using QVS, you can't edit the script. Also, if you are using section access everyone is consider a "User" even if your ID is setup for "Admin".
