How to reset inputfield value while using alternative state?

Hi, I am using inputfiled in one straighttable with alternative state, and I am trying to reset the input field everytime the user goes to the sheet using the following macro...but it is not working for the alternative state. Not sure if anyone has this problem before and has a solution to it?

sub resetInput

set fld1 = ActiveDocument.Fields("inputtest")

fld1.ResetInputFieldValues 0

end sub

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have the same problem and your post is the only one I can find on the subject.
