Problems with personal edition.

Hi everyone,

I´m a long term user of qlikview but nowadays the company that I´m working don´t use qlikview yet.

So I started using QV 11 personal edition for my analyses and try to convince my boss to use QV at the company.

Today QV gave me a terrible notification.

I can´t open my documents anymore.

Apparently I have problems with my license.

Even if I open a document created in my machine it says that it needs to be restored and realoaded.

It happened for the last few days, but today the error don´t allow me to open my documents anymore and advices me to buy QV.

What can I do now?

Will I loose all my work?

Please help.

Hi lescorda

Did you move the documents you create to another device (Your Work Pc, another Lap) if you did this and used your 4 tries to change the machine register this could be the problem.

One more question, do you have a full license for your Qlikview Desktop?

Did you recently install some new hardware in your computer? Like a network card? I think QVPE determines that it's the "same" computer based on the NIC MAC address in combination with the Windows username. This could also have happened if you switch your primary connection from wired to wireless, or you change you Windows username. Try undoing any of these steps and see if it opens.

Otherwise, a standalone Desktop license doesn't really cost that much. Might be worth buying one just to avoid having to redo months of work...

I don´t remember of anything like you described, but it´s very good to know.

In fact to solve the problem. I unnistalled QV and deleted all records of QV in rededit and then installed again.

Now it´s working wonderfully.

I´ll keep an eye in all this thinks you said.

I didn´t consider that.

All my applications are on my portable hard drive.

Thats problably the problem, right?

And about our question, I only have the personal edition on my notebook.

How can I get a full license for my notebook?

I´ll try again?

That's almost definitely the problem, yes! To get the full license, you would need to purchase it. If you contact your QT account rep, they'll be happy to sell one to you.

just for FYI standalone QV license is about $1700 (local license key)

Yes you can but the License Issue will be the same because you cannot open documents that you create in other machine. So as long as you don't have QV server for lease a license I think your best option is buying the Local Client License (Stand Alone QV Desktop)
