Adding Publisher instead of Distribution ?

Hello,

I have a production Qlikview Server without Publisher.

I'm using the scheduler and I have 100+ application running everyday.

We have just bought Publisher licence. Is it possible to apply the licence on this server and to start using Publisher features ?

Will it keep all current Reloads ? is there something to install ?

Yes ,you can use this licence in this server and use the features.

And no it will not keep the curent reloads, you must to configure all of then again.

isn't there an export of schedules possible before installing Publisher ?

If not, do I have to note all the schedules before applying the licence or can I still see the schedule when the licence is installed ?

You will have to note all the schedules.

If you apply the Publisher licence all the tasks will disapear.

Oh, another question :

If I install the Publisher licence and add all the schedules.

Then I decide to put the Publisher on another dedicated server, will I have to re-add all schedules or is an export/import possible ?

No, in that case you can move the QVPR to the other machine. You may have to tweak a few xml files left and right, because in some of them, the hostname is embedded and needs to be changed. But you can recover all your task chains and definitions.

An alternative to consider if you don't want any hassle when switching back and forth between Publisher machines is to move the QVPR to a relational database. Makes your task defintions entirely Publisher independent. See QMC->System->Setup->Management Service->Repository.
