Having all services run with the same URL is a better idea, and not having one running localhost and others on hostname. The best is to run everything with the actual hostname, that is the machine name. Using IP-addresses is seldom recommended.

You can start changing the URLs for the services in the System's tab, where you click the top nodes for each service.

Hi Guys,

There was a problem on the Prod Server as the QV Services are being down now and then and giving Problems. With the help from Qliktech as suggested by them, I changed the settings in QEMC from Servername to Server.domainname . Previously it was Servername and replaced it "Servername.Domainname"

After one day everything fell apart and could not connect to Qlikview command center service like described in this post

http://community.qlik.com/forums/t/41403.aspx

On the server when I open http://localhost/qlikview/login.htm it shows the page of login

when I now try IP address http://XX.XXX.XX.XX/qlikview/login.htm, No login page appears[XX.XXX.XX.XX is IP Address]

This http://127.0.0.1/qlikview/login.htm gives also Login page. Though I cant login with the name. I dont know what it is.

I wonder why I cant open with the IPAddress login in the Server??

Now coming out of the Server on my PC if I open the Accesspoint

http://XX.XXX.XX.XX/qlikview/login.htm it works and when I open any application it opens

http://XX.XXX.XX.XX/QvAJAXZfc/AccessPoint.aspx?open=&id=QVS@localhost%7CNL/Dashboard_NL.qvw&client=Plugin

I wonder how it works with IP Address on my PC?

Hope someone can show light on this

Thankyou

Sravan

Sravan

Using IP-address to reference the server is never a good idea. Make sure that the config files for each service contain the correct hostname for the server, and that your DNS-resolution works correctly. You will want to have the same hostname in the services list for all services.

Hi stefan,

Thanks for your response.

What do you mean by correct Hostname? localhost or Servername?

As you see from the attached figure, command center is having servername whereas the remaining Services are having Localhost. what do u say? Should I change CC also to localhost?

The Problem is as CC contains Servername, I am confused which config files to change. I dont want my productive Server to be down again:( I hope you understand.

I dont know How to test DNS Resolution. Could you please explain how to do it?

Thanks

Sravan
