Chart object not able to refresh!

We have a chart object which has 11 Dimensions and 4 Expressions and displays well normally.. when the dimensions are shuffled around it goes blank and is not able to refresh for the user on the server.

The same thing when tried on the desktop also give a "Out of Virtual and/or Logical memory". So my question is that on the desktop it runs out of system memory but on the server when it is not able to refresh, is the the problem with the user's system memory or the server memory?

If we need to resolve this and give them flexibility, will we have to increase our server memory or should the user increase his system memory?

Any insight to this would be very helpful.

hi,

If the user are viewing the application from IE or any browser the the server RAM needs to be increased.

If the client is viewing it through the QV Developer then his system RAM need to be increased.

Try to uncheck Ignore Calculation Limits from User Preference -> Objects and manually specify 20-30 MB for Calculated Formulas & Sort By Expressions. and then give a try.

Kumar - I tried this but it does not work... For some reason the memory allocated is still the 2 MB.. Say hypothetically if this worked, Is there a way to do this on the server?

Since this is a user preference, Not sure if you can set this up for the user on the server being authenticated using NTFS? I would want a Document preference that could be done on the server to be able to have all the users accessing the document be able to see the chart even after shuffling.

Hi Kumar,

Can you please guide me on how to do the Scaling of RAM for a specific object....I am using version 11 server and unabe to see the Ignore Calculation Limits in the objects tab of User Preferences window.
