Qlikview Work Bench Issue

Hi All,

I have installed the qlikview workbench in my qlikview server system(server has the licence) and i have installed the visual studio too.

Now when i drag the qvobject on to the designer it is showing the smarttag there it has some properties like

1->document selection--->I am able to select a particular document from the available after clicking the dropdown.

2->ObjectType

3->ObjectID

When i click the dropdown boxes for 2 and 3.I am not able to find the object types and objectId's.

Is there any thing that i need to do for getting those things in the dropdown boxes.

Questions:

1. Are you doing the development on the same server? Have you installed Visial Studio to the QV server? If no - then DO.

2. Do you have document security access for the selected document? Try to create simple test QVW without any security and start from there.

Hi Nick,

Yaes I am doing the developement on the same server.

I have installed the Visual studio

I have installed the workbench

I didn't provide any security for my document.

I am testing with some sample document only.

I am able to pick a particular document which i have mentioned in the folder in QEMC.

But I did,'t get any of the respective object types and object id's

This is what the problem i am facing.

Ok. Some more questions:

1. How many times have you restarted the server after workbench installation?

2. Is the current system user part of QlikView Administrator Group?

Nick,

1) After installation,I have restarted the machine.(and i have restart the corresponding qlikview services also afterwards)

2) Yes current system user is the part of the qlikview administrator's group.

Ok. This is last question - Do you have this string "WORKBENCH;YES;;" in your QV server LEF file?

No i didn't find that string in the .lef file.

I have a question,

Is it enough to have license for the qlikview server to work with workbench?

Unfortunately this is the problem. You MUST have workbench option in your QVS license. It's 4 or 5 more grand for your license and it should be Enterprise edition.
