Impossible to start services with a specific user : error 1069

Hello,

i'm trying to install Qlikview 11.2 SR11 to a new server and i can't manage to start the services with the user i have created.

I have created a user "qlikview" with administrators rights. I have installed Qlikview Server with these credentials

The services are correctly installed but i can't start them.

Every time i want to start them, i get an error :

Error 1069 : The service did not start due to a logon failure.

I have checked the "log on" tab of the service, it uses This account : .\qlikview with correct password.

Windows told me it would set to this user the right to launch a service.

I have added the Qlikview Admin rights to this user.

What can i check ? what can i do ?

I'm using Windows 2008 Server Enterprise

I have already tried to uninstall everything, create a new user and reinstall with the new user .. nothing changed ..

All services QlikView fail to start?

How do you know that the password is correct? It isn't shown in the logon tab of services.msc...

Yes all fail to start

I know the password is correct because i have just changed it and i have typed it again in the logon tab of services.msc

Carefully

I have just seen the error in the Event Viewer about the lack of Local Policy for "Log on as a service"

But adding the user doesn't change anything ..

thanks, i have seen this thread but i have not found anything that solves my problem ..

creating a new user isn't enough ..

Hi,

Make sure the account you are using must belong to local administrator group and as well as Qlikview administrator group.

Hopefully it should solve your problem.

Ohhh .. i have found the solution :

My user was in the group of Administrators

And there was a Policy that said "Deny log as a service" for Administrators...

Every article were talking about "Log on as a service" but never about the Denial of this right.

sometimes if your user is an 'Active Directory' user then maybe you changed your password (to log in to your windows account and stuff),

Go To open Services, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Services.

there you should right click each qlikview service, select Properties -> Log On -> Change password to the new one
