GMail setting not worked in Mail server Qlikview 11

I have Google Apps domain account for the Email. I am trying to setup gmail Email server setup in Qlikview 11 Server butt it dos't work.help me to resolve this issue . my Email server setup is as below

Gmail uses SSL to connect and QlikView doesn't. So you can either use another account, from a server that doesn't require encryption, like yahoo, or use a tool like stunnel to act as a bridge between the two.

It worked on QV 10, selecting AUTH LOGIN in User preferences.

Is there smthg new with QV11?

Nothing changed, you can use gmail to receive alerts, but it won't be able to connect via SMTP.

Daniel, I don't follow you. If I can't connect by SMTP anymore, what should I use?

I still have to enter an adress !?!

You need an SMTP to send the email from, that doesn't use SSL, like yahoo, your companies own smtp or even the one that comes with IIS.

You also need an email address to send the email to.

You can try to use Stunnel to make it work. I have tested this an it appears to work without issues. Attached is a showing how to do it for Gmail.

Note: This is not supported by QlikView..

I still doesn't understand why it is not supported anymore. I was working with the same version of QV, didn't upgrade or reinstall. The last email alert I received was on the 6th of June 2012.

Can you explain what mail server you were using? What does the logs saids about sending the mail? SSL has never been supported sending mail in QlikView..

I was able to get gmail working in 11 for both desktop and server with the help of this article.

In the QMC go to System > Setup > Mail Server

There Enter

Host name: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM

Port: 25

Email format: Plain

timeout: 100

From: your gmail email

Select Anonymous

We do have gmail corporate so I'm not sure if that is different than a personal gmail account.

I am able to get alert emails when a tasks fails and also email alerts within a qlikview application.

If you want to set it up in qlikview desktop go to settings > user > mail. You will then enter the same info above. Encoding is western european iso.

Mail Server doesn´t work with smtp gmail without stunnel?

Because, if i put information in field Host name smtp.gmail.com, doesn´t work, but, if use 127.0.0.1 is succesful.

I can use smtp.gmail.com?

I can send email for my smtp.gmail.com.

I have change this files:

If you are using SR5 please try this:

set the following parameter

<add key="UseSSLForSMTP" value="false"/> in the QMS AND the QDS Config file."

Stop the service and start again, the send email is succeful.
