I had a request to limit certain users' view to their own territories, and allow everyone else to see all values. I found that Section Access does not allow for a default level of access to be defined; only users named in the script can see anything. I discovered a way to make it work anyway...sort of. An example is attached, but here are the basics:

Section Access script is placed in an include script.

The script is included conditionally based on a parameter passed in by a Publisher job.

Two Publisher jobs are set up: one will include the Section Access and publish the doc to the users named within it, the other will publish it without Section Access to everyone else.

The usual warnings apply about backing up your doc first; see the comments in the include scripts for additional warnings that apply here.

(I'd rather have an enhancement that would make this workaround unnecessary, but this works for now.)
