Make sure that the QEMC is configured to allow license leasing and that the user is able to get to the server.

HI Anta,

If QlikView is showing that message it's because it's not actually leasing a license from the Server, or either the license in the Server has expired, so leasing is no longer possible. Go to the QEMC, System, Licenses, QlikView Server, QlikView Server License, and on the LEF part that there is not a line like

ALLOW_LICENSE_LEASE;;NO;

I'd strongly suggest that, after all this time without being able to lease a license, open a support case in support@qlik.com sending as much information as possible regarding your issue, your Server, clients, and so.

Hope that helps.

Miguel

Hi,

A license lease lasts for 30 days, not 90. In the History tab you see when was the last time that user leased a license from the server. When the lease expires, you need to connect to the Server again, using the Desktop client, going to the Start page, Open in Server, set your Server name and user up there and click on "Open >>".

Then the text above saying "QlikView Personal Edition" changes to "You are leasing a license from ServerNAME".

Is the Server license expired? Did you contact Support?

Miguel

Anta,

No, it doesn't matter as I mentioned above. That only shows when was the last time you connected to the server and that license was leased to you. That value could be today, one year ago or two years ago, depending on how often do you connect to the server to get a license. And that does not mean anything in special, other than the license you already have assigned (either manually or dinamically) was used for the last time on june 2011.

Is that ok?

Miguel

OK.

But as that date area in QEMC says it is a license lease history so does it mean the user has lease license frm server near abt 10 months ago? And as you said lease license can be use for 30 days. so its bit confusing

Br

Anta

Anta,

It's not confusing at all. You connect today, you get a license leased for 30 days. Ok? That means that you can go offline and still work with QlikView until next June 7, 2012 (that's 30 days). Correct.

But tomorrow, that you are offline at home, May 9, 2012, the Server will show that your last connection was on May 8, 2012. Correct. And next year, when you have not been back to the office and you are still at home offline, if you have not connected that client to the Server, the History tab will still say that your last connection was May 8, 2012. That is correct!

Why is this so confusing? You connected to the server for the last time on June 24, 2011. As it is longer than 30 days (almost eleven months), the lease has expired, which is correct. Where is the problem here?

Were you able to work for longer than 30 days withtout problems? That's strange, but possible. Have you checked again connecting to the Server? Did you checked your issue with Support?

Miguel

I was confused because as you said

Miguel Angel Baeyens wrote:

You connected to the server for the last time on June 24, 2011. As it is longer than 30 days (almost eleven months), the lease has expired, which is correct.

So it doesnt matter if the last lease time is more than 30 days..
