Open in Server issue

Hi, I am trying to lease license using open in server option to QV desktop, but its not assigning. I can connect to server & opened one of the app's then closed & reopened the desktop.. but the still showing "You are running Qlikview Personal Edition". And also I have CAL license assigned & also "Allow License lease" option is checked on QMC.

Please help, Thanks in Advance...

Just a guess, but is it possible that the license that was used to open in server was a session cal or doc cal? You probably want to make sure you have a named CAL on the server as this is the only kind of license you can lease to the desktop.

I think you can do this only twice.

So if you have two Qv desktop installations, and leased a licence for them, then you cannot lease a licence for a 3rd installation, using the same user name.

One of the two already used, must be deleted from the server, in order to let you lease again. But I think deletion takes 24 hours to update ....

I have only instance of QV desktop installed & trying to lease a license for it... And its a test server license...

Hi there - unfortunately you can not lease a licence from a test server. You will need to lease the licence from your live server.

This product and its User CALS and desktop IDE is a pain in the ass!
