Hi,

In QV10 SR3 I have created a project folder TEST-PRJ alongside my TEST.QVD. After saving the QVD I get all project files in the project folder without issue.

What I want is reconstruct the QVD from the individual project files. Therefore I renamed the original TEST.QVD to TEST_ORG.QVD and saved an empty QVD as TEST.QVD

This new file has all objects and sheets but when I reload I get no data. I suspect this is caused because there is a problem with the variables. I noticed that the values of my nonscripted variables are all empty.

In the original qvd I see:

Any idea how to fix this so that I do not have to add the variables each time when I reconstruct the qvd??

I have noticed the same thing. When I restore my project from project files, all of the variables that are not scripted have disappeared! I even searched the contents of all of the files in the -prj folder, but could not find any of my variable definitions there either.

Is this a bug? If so, it is a very big one! I am trying to recover a corrupted document, and this is preventing me.

Hi!

Quite an old topic here, but I just wanted to give an update here in case anyone else is searching Qlikcommunity for this topic.

Seems like QT is not gonna fix this behavior. Just discussed with Support, and they say that's a WAD

WAD: As noted in
the help files / documentation "No data from the document will be saved in
the project files."

Variables that are
added to the document straight into the variables section are classed as data -
to get around this you can use SET in the script to set the variable to be
what you want in the file, this will ensure that the "variable" is
saved in the project file.

When I remember correctly, this is the same behavior as with the qv.exe \nodata Switch.
