Pivot Table Formatting -- Remove black lines around dimension labels

For the attached pivot table named 'Gender', I applied Pyjama 1 style, then did "Custom Format Cell " to hide dimension labels(change it to white). I would like to remove all the lines except the one above "Total" line. However, I couldn't find ways to remove the the two lines around dimension labels.

I tried right-click on the cell Year(Gender), brought up the "Custom Format Cell" window, then change all the border lines to none & white as in the attached file, and the two lines are still there. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks in advance!

Hello Simon,

In Chart Properties > Style Tab - Uncheck Vertical Dimension Cell Borders Also do the same for Expression.

Still if it does not work then please play with Cell Border and Cell Background Transperancy.

Cell Border transperancy will remove the last vertical line, but it also removes the line above my last "Total" Row.

But I guess I can use color to distinguish the Total row.
