Using interval in a trigger

Hi guys.

I am looking for a solution to this problem:

I have a field containing Purpose. It can have many different values, for instance 11, 41, B2, IN, 58 and so on.

I want to make a selection in the OnOpen trigger, where I select all values NOT including the interval B1..B9.

I thought I could make a selection for the interval first, and then use the function Select Excluded for the same field, but I can not find the right expression for the selection.

I have tried: ='>=(=$(varFormålFra)<=(=$(varFormålTil)' where varFormålFra and varFormålTil are variables containint 'B1' and 'B9'

Can any of you very skilled people help me?
