Hello Community,

Please guide me for the below problem.

When I exporting more than 65000 record from .qvw to excel it saves in .csv format.

but in Access point when i exporting same data it gives below data in excel..

And also tell me Can we export more than 65000 records in excel in Access point??

or it get save in .csv format?

On the server you can change the limit in the QVS settings.ini file

[Settings 7]

RowLimitForCsvInsteadOfXls=65500

In Qlikview Desktop you can change this with an 'easter egg' setting. In the Help menu select About Qlikview. Then right click on the Qlikview icon in the lower left corner. Find the entry RowLimitForCsvInsteadOfXls. You can then increase the value from 65500 to a higher number. Note, this may cause a performance penalty on your server.

Hi Neha,

Did you get any further with this?

I'm trying to export 100,000+ records with 76-78 columns (using QV 11.2 SR3) when I try using IE (AJAX) I get the above, I've tried extending the timeout in the config file, but no luck!

I can export if I open the document locally on the server and export, but this is not an elegant solution.

Whats your excel version on access point? The older excel 2003 only 65000 odd rows.

I've shrunk down the number of columns and then the format changes to a .csv (which is fine) however I just think that the connection times out on the server due to size and there has to be a way to change this......

I would say, in my testing that large datasets were exported into a .csv (instead of a .xls) this is what I am after rather than a .xls extension.

Any thoughts???

You can also create a button that has an action to export to a .csv file. This way it wont go through trying to export as .xls

Hi I have to use AJAX as the client plugin doesn't work (with rendering the reports) therefore I can't use a macro in the button to export to .csv.

I'll review the timeout length was set to 60 originally (changed to 3600) will move it up again and see what happens in the .config file....

You would have to wait for some time, or restart services for timeout to reflect.

Already restarted the services before, strangely after moving the value higher I get the save as dialogue appear quicker than before.

I've used set analysis to split up the report into chunks and this works (but I then have to combine all the outputs in excel). However one section is still large and this is not exporting as a result!

Will have a think and may have to split it up by grouping the data together in chunks (say 50K rows against the columns of 78) but not an elegant solution. Also going to log this as a bug with QT.

If anyone else has any ideas please share!!!!!!

Sorry for the late reply.

Actually I didn't find the exact solution for this, I was also facing same problem. I was unable to export more than 65,000 data to excel on access point but able to export on locally.

For that I did right click on chart and click on export option and save it to .csv/ .excel format where it first ask for location where to save the file.

Hi I've been told that this is under a bud ID of 54962 (against QV11) I've asked QT to have a further look at this.

Hi, we have also been having errors when sending large datasets(100,000+) to Excel on AJAX.

All timeout settings are set to 30mins but error sometimes appears just after a couple of minutes.

Any update on this issue?

Hi Neha,

The issue is that sometimes when we click send to Excel, even though we get the pop-up that it's extracting the data, after 5/6 minutes it downloads an empty file to the browser with the following message:

"<result><message text="Session lost" /><restart/></result>"

We have checked in the server C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Temp folder and we can see that it creates a file with the correct data but for some reason it's unable to downloaded it from the browser client.

We are suspicious that it could be related to the filesize - around 100MB+
