Good Day,

In my AccessPoint I have a document with a certain name, let's say 'theDocument.qvw'. I can open up 'theDocument' using my web browser.

When I create another document, let's say 'anotherDocument.qvw', I get an error message 'Failed to open document, you don't have access to this document'.

To remove the usual suspects:

I do not have Section Access on this document (any of them).

I did not click on 'Initial data reduction based on Section Access' in Settings | Document properties.

I have got sufficient privilges for the user in Windows Folder Security.

The interresting part is, if I rename 'anotherDocument.qvw' to 'theDocument.qvw', I can view the previously not viewable (now 'theDocument') without problems, and not the other way around.

It seems to allow access based on the name of the document.

Anyone have any idea why this would be?

Are you using User CAL's or Document CAL's? If the latter check the CAL's assigned for the two documents.

Hi Gysbert,

This is an external server, using USAGE and SESSION CAL's (and there are enough CAL's available).

Something new I found was a checkbox "Allow this document to be loaded by the QlikView Server" (In QMC: Documents | UserDocuments | Availability) that is checked on the one that is working, and unchecked on the rest.

After a quick search, I found something on the community site, where someone suggested removing .pgo files, which I did.

I still have the same problem.

Hi Ian,

could you solve your problem? I am facing the same issue and it does not seem to stem from the section access.

Even documents without any security cannot be opened by some users (all those users work in our international offices - I was thiniking if this might be a problem)

Best regards,

Chris
