Urgent help require on Simple data hierarchy

My tableis having three columns like Brand No, Brand Name and Mat Name.

I want to create a list box which will have Band(with '+' sign) and when i will click on that it will show all Mat name for that Brand

Bran No.	Brand	Mat Name
1	Al	Masy
1	Al	kite
2	BL	pen
2	BL	pencil
2	BL	kart
2	BL	mask
2	BL	chart
2	BL	cap
3	CL	toy
3	CL	game

Hi,

just add a concatenated field for the hierarchy (see attachment):

data:

LOAD *, Brand & '/' & MatName as Hierarchy;

LOAD * INLINE [

BranNo, Brand, MatName

1, Al, Masy

1, Al, kite

2, BL, pen

2, BL, pencil

2, BL, kart

2, BL, mask

2, BL, chart

2, BL, cap

3, CL, toy

3, CL, game

];

But in above example we are not able to select parent like AL, BL, We need to select data inside it?

Why is it so? Can we select Al, BL directly

Hi Nirav,

Pl find attched application.

as per your example -In ths application parent is Short_Description and child is Material Type.

e.g.

Short_Description is grouped and when we press '+' sign it will show all corresponding Material Type

HI Kirti,

Now whats the problem in creating a hierarcgy structure from it.

Remember in Hierarchy involve Parent code, Child code and Child name only.

Then make Transaction table which is having all the child data and which is map with your Hierarchy with Child Code.Hope this will help you.

Or else can you tell me what you want to do further. If possible then share your datafile so that I can help you further to build hierarchy structure.
