I'm exploring some options to show sales on a US terriroty map. I've the following requirements :

1. Wanted to group states together in four buckets(regions) ,shade the map in four different colors and show the sales

2. When you drill down on a region, show the sales by State

3. When you drill down on a state, show the sales by zip code.

4. Drill down on zip code, show the addresses with the sales.

Nice to have is to show the distance between two zip codes or address.

It's tipical sales management dashboard requirements.

In the community, I saw several posting for the Google maps and thrid party extension objects. Each post gave me some info.

1. Thrid party extenion will only work in AJAX mode. But we wanted our maps to work on both IE and AJAX mode.

2. Google Maps - For certain type usage it's free and others we have to licenses it.

3. In the latest version (QV 11), we don't need to generate google api key.

4. We need to prep the data with logitude and latitude. If we get the logitude and latitude data from geonames then it's free but quality is questionable. We should use some paid data sources.

I'm looking for some best practices / recommendations to integrate maps with qlikview.

Thanks

Dan
