Install on Windows 2012 Server Fails

Hi All,

Has anyone had experience with installing QlikView on their Windows 2012 Server ?

My attempts are failing with "The Operating system is not adequate for running Qlikview Server x64."

I'm uncertain what the inadequacy is, Its a new server dedicated for QV, (yes .NET 4 is loaded)

Hi Paul,

Which Qlikview server version that you downloaded and attempt to install on the Windows 2012 server? I believe only the QV 11.2 SR2 or SR3 are the ones support Win 2012.

Hi all

Yes it was a case of downloading the correct install files for Windows 2012. I have not got around to updating this post.

QV runs nicely on Windows 2012 server and also

currently running the QV for Win 8 on the server too (temporarily) without issue thus far.

We also are connecting to SQL Server 2012 (our data warehouse server)

Glad to hear that it works out just fine now.

By the way, I'm assuming that you are currently using Internet Explorer 10 with that Win 2012? Please watch out for the automatic download/install feature of "Windows Update" for Internet Explorer 11 as I don't know whether it is yet supported by Qlikview.

At present we have not upgraded the SOE for IE10 , thanks for the Heads up on this ,

just us developers have it

I'm in the process of upgrading to Windows server 2012 R2.

Which version of Server 2012 are you using? Are you installing Qlikview 11.2?

I'm trying to install 11.2 on my 2012 R2 Server, but getting a compatibility error.

Hi Anton,

I have asked our QlikView partner for the installation files for QlikView server on our new Windows Server 2012 box. They suggested that I install QV 11 SR5.

I am however still getting the same error: “The operating system is not adequate for running QlikView Server x64.”

Please let me know if SR5 works with Server 2012?

You will have to download QlikviewServer Win2012andUP

from Qlikview .

QV 11.2 SR5 works without issue on Win 2012 Server

As mentioned earlier on this thread you need to use the Win2012andUP Install kit.

Hello Paul,

Download QlikViewDesktop_Win8andUp.exe for windows 2012 and install it. it will work fine on windows 2012 R2 Server.
