There is no such a tool to get resolution of Qlikview application.

You can set resolution as per customers requirement, whether customer want to view report on Projector/Laptop/Desktop. There is no standard resolution for Qlikview UI Designing. But Organisations have Standard screen resolution for UI designing.

Regards

Kiran Rode

+91 8976977897

Hi Phani, How are you?

I am not trying to fit every thing to window as of now.

Issue description :

We have around 10 dashboards developed by different developers and they did not follow any standard resolution for these dashboards during the development.

(1) Now some users are complaining developers are not using all the space available in report for some reports as there is some empty white space right side.

(2) very few users complaining that they are getting scroll bars.

So they asked me to standardize all the reports and also mentioned they will be using tablets in future.

So what should be my approach here to standardize?

Some QV developers suggested a macro. Will it resolve all our problems?

Thanks,

Chiru.

Gotcha... as of now there no way we can accommodate all devices/screens with a single deliverable at least with this version of qlikview. may be QV Next can accommodate that..

Preview of QlikView.Next | QlikView

Macro wont solve the problem, as it will run with IE Plugin only..and it will be cumbersome to maintain..

I can suggest 2 approaches..

1. Selecting "Fit Zoom to Window" option from "Menu" -- Works only in IE Plugin i believe (Not recommended as it will shrink all objects and some times if you have more objects then text wont look as good as it should be)

2. Using a template background to modify all dashboards, so that you can fit everything in to 1. Personally i use this to make it consistent across all dashboards.

There is a developer toolkit ships with qlikview install.. C:\Program Files\QlikView\Examples\Developer Toolkit

use the resolution backgrounds and fit all objects inside that..or create your own image with moderate resolution so that it will be good for all users..
