...add code to a QVW in the same way as you would write some VBA for Excel/Access?

I'd like to add some code to an application of mine which only runs when the QVW is closed, in Excel this would be achieved using the UponClose function. Wondering if there is anything similar to that within QlikView??

Thanks for the help in advance.

There's no OnClose trigger (or a similar trigger for the closing of a document) in Qlikview so the answer is no afaik. What you can do is add a button that runs the code and also closes the document.
