that worked, but from my list below, I look only for 3 or 5 and it selects everything, even though i did not perform a wildcard search. It did not work neither with "or" nor "+". How should i look here if i want to look for exactly some numbers? QV selects not only the 2 values i am looking for but all of the marked values with yellow (in the ex. i used 2, but what if i need to look for more and the list is my customer Id with millions of values)

how the search string shall look like?

hi

i have an issue with the search. In a multiple box, i look for ZIP codes. I just want two of them as indicated 50-579 or 50515. The search displays other values too, what i do not understand why, like ÖRIMGE and "or" (but is a logical connector!)

The final result is in the table below, marked in green, and QV selects all four results, even though i look for two zip codes.

The same happened when looking from a list of numbers (all different) from 1 to 100. I searched like this : "2 or 3 or 45" and QV displayed all selections as wildcard, even though the search setting for the document is "normal". I wanted only 3 values, but the end result was all possible like 2,3,20,21,22,23,...30,31... 45,46,.... with more than 20 values. This leads to bad results.

Is the "or" correct? or what should i use there? (listbox/multibox). Users don't want to use CTRL + Selection, because sometimes we need more than 10 values which are not in order (or sequential)

thanks for any insight here

felipe

Hi,

that occurs because in this case, 'OR' doesn't work as a logical operator. If you want to search either 50-579 or 50515, you need to type it as 50-579 + 50-515, so the search perform a union (or).

regards

hi Christian

no, it does not work with this version. Besides, ZIP codes seems not to be so bad, but when trying with the integers and looking for just 5 or 6 it selects all numbers containing a 5. When i press enter to select it selects everything, even though i just want the five + (or) 6

En el teclado, (es un lap top?), en la fila de número superior, hay unos símbolos, como el de euro de la tecla E, que salen pulsando Alt Gr y la tecla correspondiente.

En el 1 está el pipe.

Si no, alt 124.

Yo uso Word para buscar los códigos de los símbolos, (viví en USA y no había ñ en los teclados), insertar símbolo y mirar el código de carácter en ASCII decimal.
