how to assign Named CAL to a user ?

you do not need to assign Named if Allow Dyanamic Cal assignment is checked in Qlikview Management console.

when user access QVW files through Access point in browser as soon as he clicks the thumbnail is clicked a licence will be released and it assigns it to the user who is accessing by his active directory name , however if you do not want this,then you need to uncheck Allow Dyanic Cal assignment in qlikview mangement console and there you have the option to search the user by his/her name and manually assings licence.

Hi,

go to the Qlikview Management Console (QMC) -> System -> Choose Qlikview server (left part) -> Licenses -> Client Access Licenses -> Assigned CALS.

Click on the user icon at the right and select the users to which the licenses will be assigned.

Click on Apply.
