I don't think the main advantage of QV dual value representation is memory efficiency (if there even is an advantage, maybe Henric can tell you more). It just makes your life so much easier:

http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2012/11/13/dual

Hi,

I'm wondering about the Dual Functions efficiency. I know it works well by appending a numeric field (to do calculations for speed) to a text field. So in my examples I would do a dual function with 2 fields that are associated with one another and the dual funtion turns them into one field......does this reduce the size of the document? becasue you are getting rid of a field. So would this help with document speed as well since there are less fields

Thanks for the help,

Bryan
