Straight Table Selection

Hi All,

I have a Straight Table like this:

RowNo Staff Name Age

1 David 28

2 Kevin 26

3 Wilson 28

If I select '28' on Row 3, the selection will be 'Age:28', is it possible that it will select 'Wilson' for 'Staff Name' field as well? Can I use macro or is there any solution?Many thanks for your help!

That's not a straight table I'd guess. If Age were an expression in a straight table then clicking on 28 in the third row would not select 28, but Wilson and 3. If Age is not an expression then either you didn't post the expression column or you're talking about a table box. If you do have a straight table then click on the expression value of row 3. If you don't have a straight table create one with RowNo and Staff Name as dimensions and for example max(Age) as expression. Then click on 28 in the third row and Wilson and 3 will be selected.

Sorry, my fault. I didn't post the expression column for the straight table, all of these three columns are dimensions. Now my question is when I click on 28 in dimension Age, is it possible that Wilson and 3 will be selected as well?(I can not use the expression, because I have another action for it)

Define Age as both a Dimension and an Expression. Hide the Dimension column in Presentation pane. Then clicking on the Age expression will select Rowno, Staff Name & Age values.

Hi,

It is not possible it is default behaviour of qlikview, it cannot be overrided that it filters on the corresponding dimension, if you want to select Wilson and 3 then you select 3 instead of 28.
