Manual Input of User Names

Hi, I am trying to create 2 users under assigned CAL's. I clicked on Manage Users and my client added 5 users under manual input of user names. I tried to add two more users as same fashion and it shows me last Used time is 12/31/9999 11:59:59. But not sute where to set password for this and it is removing once I clicked on Apply. I am assuming that its happening because of Limit number of CAL's in the limitations tab which is mentioned Named user CALs:5 (5 in license). Attached screenshot for the reference. Is my assumption is correct or even I tried to change 5 to 10 but it shows 5 only. Can you please clarify on the same. And I am not able to findout Signout button for QMC?? Thanks,

Hi.

According to screenshoot you have 5 named CAL's and 10 document CAL's.

How do you want to add two more if you don't have free CAL's for them (you've mentioned that 5 users are already assigned) ?

Hi Madhu,

There two scenarios for passwords:

1. It has to be active directory password. If the user is there in the active directory list and authentication password to be active directory password. all the password changes has to be done at the active directory account level. In this case Qlikview (QMC) has no control on the user accounts. We can only assign the existing active directory users to CAL's.

2. Custom directory:

QMC has full control of the users and their passwords. Here you can change the password when ever you want.

QMC doesn't have logout option, however it is only accessible to the users under Qlikview administrator group and is secured. If there any changes to the jobs or any new addition of jobs would automatically get reflect. (Automatic task refresh check box is there)

There is a good server reference manual.

The password management depends on the security mode you've chosen on the server.
