topic Chart not pulling in data, except when using wizard in QlikView

I recently purchased the QlikView 11 for Developers book, which is taking me through developing an app with data provided by the authors. Everything seemed to work fine until I got to the section that involves creating charts. I followed the instructions step-by-step, but when I click OK to populate the chart, it states "No data to display."

Certain that I entered everything correctly (because I triple checked it), I tried another route. This time, I referenced the data using the quick chart wizard rather than the create chart button, and it worked.

The problem is, the quick chart wizard doesn't have as many settings so as I get further into the chapter (for example, when creating cyclic and drill-down groups), I need to use the create chart button or enter through Properties, and -- once again -- the chart doesn't pull the data.

I have attached the file. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Nevermind. It was an oversight on my part. I didn't realize that QlikView automatically inputs a left bracket ( [ ) at the beginning of a expression definition. Thus, I had my definitions starting with double brackets, which was why I wasn't getting my charts to populate. Stupid mistake, but I won't miss that again!
