Hi All,

I am trying to get the below scenario work,

Lets say I have 3 different product types and I calculate the total cost(for each product) and total cost of all products and display them in a text box. Now I want to choose a particular product using the list box and should have one slider with a variable to increase the sale count of the product selected and see the estimated value of the total cost for each and all products.

TotalCostof All Products = (AverageIncomeoftheProduct1 * CountIncrease)+(AverageIncomeoftheProduct2 * CountIncrease)+(AverageIncomeoftheProduct3 * CountIncrease)

AverageIncomeoftheProduct= TotalIncome/No of units sold

Since I have 1 slider and 1 variable how would I make sure the variable is set to the correct product so the total cost is increased by only the product chosen.

I am using set analysis on the product type in my expressions.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply. This is closer. But when I choose the product, I still need to see other products in the chart/table with their actual value in both actual and estimated column. Also the variable value adds the same amount to all the products. But I want it to increase only for the selected product.

The way I designed it the slider works as per your request for the text objects. Did you check the way the three text objects were working when a product is selected and you change the slider?

Edit: So you want that feature in the table? Lemme give it a whirl.

I get it. But lets do this, I added count to the sample you did and changed the slider to increase the count.

Attaching the modified sample. I may be complicating the scenario but this is how exactly I would need to produce.

I did not modify the texts that display the total cost and the individual products.

Also I changed the Estimated total in the chart to sum(expressions) and it works fine. However when I do that in my application, it is not working. If I put set analysis in the product count to ignore the Product selection, the values become null. Not sure waht could be the issue?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks

I think it is a bracket issue. put a bracket around the (entire expression) + variable

Can you provide an example of how you want the total text value to be, please explain with numbers like what are all the amounts and if you change the slider what you want the total to be in the text object.

It would be helpful in answering.

I found the issue with incorrect count. Attaching the file with the estimated count. If you select bike and have the slider at 7, then the estimated count shows 16 (since there are 2 bikes)=2(actual count)+7*2. The issue is using the sum for vCount with the set analysis. So instead of the set analysis I tried,

[Actual Count]+if(GetFieldSelections(Product),$(vCount),0)

But the numbers show just the actual count.

Also have you experienced Garbage after Expression errors while using GetFieldSelections. So I used function trim inside the GetFieldSelections. But when I change the count it does not affect the chart anymore.

The Product Names I have has space and special characters in them.

Estimated count seems to be working good in the file you attached

You can't use Getfieldselections in the table. It wont give you the results you are looking for

You can use it in the text object though. Try using " " or [ ] . Just play around and one of them should click

EDIT : I tried if(GetFieldSelections(Product)='Bell &Ball',$(vCount),0) and it worked fine (I just created a field value like Bell &Ball to test)
