Hi People,

I have applied section access on my application using NTNAME

it is getting reloaded successfully but i am not able to see it on Access Point.

Please Help me on it

This isn't a matter of section access. Your app need the proper access rights and must be in the root-folder from access point.

What problem is
If i put application without any section access in the folder, it shows on access point

where as if i put same application with section access on it, it doesnt appear on access point.

Hi,

The QVW file after past the root-folder, check the below steps

1. Check the your section access script you have access to file

2. I have the access for that root-folder (Security).

3. Give the all authorization user access for thar particular qvw in QMC

I got your problem, you are loged in access point via some user id that user did't have access for that app.

This can be cause by you not having rights to the document in Section Access. To see if this is the case open the document and uncheck the below.

Looks like authorization is missing for document. In QMC, in Documents tab, you need to provide authorization to all authenticated users.

If that is checked and you are not part of section access (or section access is setup incorrect) you will not see the document in accesspoint. So, if you uncheck this and you can see the document in accesspoint then there is issues with section access.

The way it works when you login in QVS will check to see if you have NTFS (DMS) rights to the document. If you do then QVS will check to see if section access is applied. If it is then it will check your ID against section access and if you have rights there it will show you the document.

This can have one of many causes, many of thel already mentioned before.

In addition, these can help you figure out what's wrong:

Change your Section Access LOAD statement to load ...UPPER(NTNAME) AS NTNAME...
What is your XYZ data source anyway? An Excel file? Does NTNAME column include a correct domainname part?
If that still doesn't work, disable the Section Access; line by putting a // in front. The section access table will now become visible in your document. Then add a text box to your document with a string like: =OSUser(). The text box will print your domainname/account name when you open the document. Reload and publish. Open the document in the AP. Compare the text box value to the values in the NTNAME field (create a listbox in the AP).

1) Done,

2) it is an Excel

3)I check it with OSUSER(), it is same what i have used in NTNAME

one thing i wanted to ask,

i did unchecked that which Bill Brit told

Now it is asking for userid and password

if i givee my NT Name and Login password, it is not working.... do we hae some default password set for NT NAme?

but it is asking for USER id and Password

i typed my login DOMAIN\USERID and Password but didnt work

do we have any default password or something like that?

This cannot be.

If you don't use USERID and PASSWORD fields in the Section Access table, QVS won't ask you for a USERID. It will use SSO only. However, your document still doesn't recognize your NTNAME values, so there must be something wrong with the content of your Excel..

BTW USERID/PASSWORD is a separate authentication system, that doesn't accept NTNAME values. NTNAME uses your current AD credentials for which you do not need to enter a password, as this has already been verified when logging in to Windows.

I guess your posting of the Section Access script isn't complete. Care to post the complete script part between the Section Access; and Section Application; lines?

One other thing you can try is to load a single INLINE row in your Section Access table, before concatenating the content of the Excel file. In the INLINE LOAD, put your domainname\accountname string, Access=ADMIN and various values for the link fields that you know will work in a Data Reduction scenario. See if that works. If not, then there is something wrong with your QVS setup (DSC?)

If every thing is correct from your end, the please check the Access . i.e what access you have defined to yourself in the file.
