Editing the document in the Qlikview server

Hi,

Can two person work on the same document in qlikview?

We have license for qlikview server and the document uploaded by one user can not be edited by other user.

Is it like only user who upload the document, can edit the document?

can multiple user work on the same document at the same time?

Two persons can work on the same document, but not simultaneously. Also documents opened by the Open in Server option or opened in the ajax client are read-only.

From the Server through Access Point end users can Add Sheet Objects when the Server has enabled the feature called Server Objects.

Otherwise End users can only interact with the QVW file on server.

When multiple end users work on the same document thorough Access Point then the Server keeps the server objects per End user.

One end user can also share an object he/ she created, with other end users.

Open qlikview (not a document) and press the item on the left "Open in Server"

Then insert your address (Ex. qvp://Qlik@100.100.1.100)

and open a document.

then close and open your document.

Developers can edit the document loaded @ access point

but user can not edit document

Can two developer edit the document?

for eg, One developer will add document ,can second developer edit the same document by opening in qlikview desktop?

Yes two can edit but not at same time.

Yes they can one by one edit using Qlikview desktop

but not concurrentely i mean @ not @ same time

I would advise strongly against editing published documents. Accidents do happen, and they will be visible immediately.

Create a development folder on a file server or on the qlikview server that isn't mounted in the access point, or only mounted and published for developers.

AFAIK nobody can edit documents in the AccessPoint. That feature is just around the corner, so they tell me (QV12).

I think by sharing the document in a shared folder environment, two people can access at same time. but while saving document it will create the problem and I don't know how it works in Qlikview server
