[ASK] Set Analysis Full Week Value by Month

Hello qlikview,

if i want to show value by week with year and month selected, how to show full value if the week separate by 2 month?

Example :

Selected Year : 2014

Selected Month : March

Result :

Week | Value

--------------------

9 | 24

10 | 521

11 | 64

12 | 85

13 | 361

Selected Year : 2014

Selected Month : February

Result :

Week | Value

--------------------

5 | 24

6 | 521

7 | 64

8 | 85

9 | 361

Expected result :

Selected Year : 2014

Selected Month : March

Result :

Week | Value

--------------------

9 | 385

10 | 521

11 | 64

12 | 85

13 | 361

What i expected is i have value 385 when i select 2014 and March instead of 24.

How to do that?

From a quick look, it seems like its working the way its supposed to work.

lets take

Feb 25,26,,27,28 and Mar 1,2,3

and these seven days are week 9. If you select

2014 and Mar you are essentially picking only 1,2,3 from Mar which is how it should be. It makes total sense.

Why should it include days from Feb when you select Mar.

This is common when weeks overlap with two months.

i know it's really common, but the client really insist to.

So when i select 2014 and February, week 9 also view 385 as value.

is there any way out?

Not really clear to me what you want.

Do you want the value 385 in week 9 in month Feb as well as in month Mar? Or only in one month? Then, which criteria do you use to assign a week to a given month when the week belongs to two? The month having at least 4 days of the week? The later month?

what the client request is,

when a week split by current month and previous/next month, then this week still have show its full value.

Like first week and last week in January 2014, they split in December 2013 and Febrruary 2014..

but when i select 2014 and January, week 1 and week 5 still have to show they full value.

Yes, i want to show 385 in week 9 when i select 2014 and February, also when i select 2014 and March.

Ah. Understood.

Please check out the attached file. I created two fields OriginalAmount and Amount.

The Amount field works per your requirement. I did it in the back-end.

But is there anyway to do it on the frond-end? with set analysis perhaps.

because in my case, value is not in the same table as date

i've tried the back-end solution with my data model, and value is count(sales)..and your example is using sum(Amount)

in my data model it is shows incorrect values.

i change the expression to =count(Aggr(count( [Entry ID Extra]),Week))

where is my mistake?

Btw, my dimension is group dimension drill-down Year-Month-Week
