Exporting from Straight table Versus Exporting Data from Pivot table

Hi All,

We have two objects in our reports Pivot & Straight table.

We are exporting to excel around 100 K of data from each of the object .

I am observing from pivot table it is taking more time than straight table ....Any thoughts on this ?

One thing i have noticed when we are dealing with Pivot tables they perform slower compared to straight tables.

Also we noticed some times pivot tables in AJAX are performing slower compared to IE plugin.

You might have already noticed that when you hit send to excel on Pivot table you will see output like a straight table structure with out Pivoting.

May be that kind of conversion takes a while may be...Just a guess...

One Suggestion we made to our customers when they are taking these to Excel is to FastChange to straight table..

YES we do have customers who takes entire 10 Million cells report to excel...not sure what their use cases are ... Hope you have the same on your side too ..

Even i would like to hear if any one faced same and has any thoughts...
