    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Corleone,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is correct that using $ looks at the current selections, but making selections in the Set analysis statement will apply the new selections to the fields.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Example:&lt;BR /&gt;I have selected Continent 'Europe' and Country 'Germany'.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sum({$&amp;lt;Country={'France'}&amp;gt;} Sales)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This expression will still look at the sales for France even though my selection in the field Country is Germany.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i'm using following function to add some data:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sum( {$&amp;lt;Year=, Month=, YearMonthRolling= {$(=Month + Year * 100)},[Customer]={'10*'}&amp;gt;} Figure)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;my selection is:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Year, Month and one Customer which has a 10!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why is it that this sum adds all customers with a "10"? and not only the one i have selected? with "$" i use also the selected values? am i wrong?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
