An observation... It seems to be related to the difference between OSX and Windows mouse clicks. I can get the red frame to appear. The right click pop-up menu keeps appearing when I try to drag and resize.

Had the same issue and just solved it.

Go to Parallels Desktop menu -> Preferences -> Shortcuts -> Mouse Shortcuts.

Disable Secondary Click, which is set to CTRL+SHIFT.

In a QlikView object, hold CTRL+SHIFT and click somewhere in the object. The red frames will now stay.

Initially, the Ctrl+arrow (for moving/aligning objects) short keys didn't work either. This issue can be fixed in System Preferences (OS X) -> Keyboard -> Key Combinations. Click Mission Control and disable the four CTRL+arrow short keys.
