Total for pivot table

Hi All,

In a pivot table, I need total for derived calculation at bottom not the default Pivot partial total.

Have you checked out > Chart properties > Presentation tab > Dimensions and Expressions section > select 1 or more > check Show Partial Sums.

i'm not sure if there is a direct way of doing this in a pivot table...but you can clone the chart and remove the dimensions to get grand totals for each expression that you place below the pivot chart and play with the layers and borders and you will be able to achieve your requirement.

To that point - you can avoid a pivot table all together and create the desired appearance using text boxes with expressions for each text box. This can provide an exact appearance to your pivot requirement. You lose flexibility but support your appearance/structure requirement.

Right click on the chart > Clone (from context menu). OR hold down Ctrl key and drag from the caption bar > this will create a copy of the object.

if you have to go this route, that is you have to have a pivot table and not a straight table...then you also need to make sure you uncheck size to data in the layout tab of the pivot table. this way the total table will not be out of place when a selection is made in the pivot table.

try this > Chart properties > Presentation tab > Dimensions and Expressions section > select 1 or more > check Show Partial Sums.

change pivot to straight -> expression-> total after selecting expressions

then again convert into pivot table
