Hi Vikas,

Direct Discovery is instead of using In memory approach of Qlikview, one can connect directly to the data source and pull the data and use them in Qlikview app. The datas that are pulled thru Direct Discovery ll not get stored in Memory. With the help of DIRECT QUERY we can achieve this. The associative feature of Qlikview ll link the Direct tables with the in memory tables.

Hi Vikas,

Direct discovery allow you to fetch data from database without loading the field into the application. It fetch the data directly from the database for each calculation. It will reduce the size of your application. But Direct Discovery has many limitation. Like

we dont apply set analysis on the field which are directly connected to DB.
Section Access is not supported.
Calculated dimension is not allowed.
Synthetic keys on the Direct Discovery table
Binary Load restricted.
