Current selection box Issue

Hello All

I am facing theIssue with current selection box

i am using an expression like Age bucket in a list box (note: it is not possible to create at backend)

Age:

10 to 20

20 to 30

30 to 40

40 to 50

60 above

if i select any value range from the above listbox then current selection box

displayng all the fileds those i have used to calculate the Expression,

but i want to display the range as in List box

Is this possible?

Any one can please assist me on this

Hi,

Since you are having a calculated dimension, any selection you do on that dimension shows the selection for the root fields (and not the calculated dimension). So frankly, I am not aware of any straight way of doing it.

But if you want to absolutely achieve it, there are a couple of things that you could do -

1. Create an data island of the ageing buckets

2. On selection of the chart dimensions, you will have to figure out a way of transferring the selections to this data island using field triggers.

3. To not show the root fields selection, you can use hide prefix and rename the fields accordingly (maybe by taking duplicate fields)

But then again, there will be a few things which will be kind of unclean. Like your back buttons will go for a toss due to triggers. Complexity of handling a data island and its selection & deselection and so on.
