How to Schedule a Reload from the Server

Hi All,

I am trying to create a reload of a Qlikview Application from the Server.

Do I need to change any settings at the Document level?

Other than adding a Text Object with Reloadtime(), how can I see if the Document is reloading from the Server?

Do you have a qlikview console access.

From that you can load,schedule etc..

Select the task -->Right side check Task History

Yes I have QMC Access and I set up the reload task but it keeps failing

go to the management console and click on the document that want to schedule the reload for, then go to load tab I am not about the name because I don't have server at the moment then you can schedule it from there

Does it run manually?

You can find logs here

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log

Apart from that I suggest you to post document log.

You can enable the same from Qlikview document.

open your QlikView document --> Setting -->Document properties-->General --> Generate logfile. save and reload.

HI Have you successfully reload the document manually using QV Desktop. If that work then you need to check the logfiles.

Navigate to System => Set Up Qlikview Servers => Logging to find the location of your Log directory on the server.

Then locate the Document.Log and Task.log files to see what error you have.

I have checked the log file and it says the following

The source Document was not loaded Successfully, but other than that it does not say why

Hi Rob,

I can reload the manually from Desktop and it works fine.

I checked the Log Folder path and I can't find the Document.Log or Task.Log

Hi, Alan,

Make sure all services are up and running

Make sure the account you use belong to administrator and in turn belong to Qlikview Administrator group.

If password of service account is reset, then go to services and change on all individual services.

Have you folllowed ashfaq's instructions to make sure you are generating a log file? Need to set this in the document itself.

Thanks I assumed the log on the server would be the same as the log file generated from the Document

I have an error that makes sense to me now

Hopefully I can sort this and it will work

Hi All,

Thanks for all your help, it appears I can run the Reload manually using Desktop and it works fine, however the Server can't find the QVD files and so the reload fails.

Do I need to add the QVD files to the Server, or do I have an issue with the Folder Structure

Hi,

You need to add qvd's to server with the same folder structure as that of dev.

Or use relative paths while loading with same folder structure.

Or define your path in variables.

Hi All,

I got this working, I needed to add the Server Name to the path.

I had been using P:\usr\alan\

I changed to

\\server\P\usr\alan\ and it worked fine
