Automatic Reload fails / QVB.exe hangs

As a continuation of a previous post, I am seeking the wisdom and experience from this excellent community.

10 days ago, we reported having a QVW, which has stopped reloading automatically.

The job normally takes 1 minute to run and has been running every 20 minutes for a long while (months).

A manual reload of the QVW works fine and we have found no apparent error messages in any of our log files.

The last entries, however in the Tasklog (DistributionService) are

"Reload finished successfully

Start saving document".

After several days of troubleshooting and little guidance from Qlik Support, I found out that we have a problem with automatic reloads when QVDs are used. Specifically, we were using Concatenate in our script to combine today's data with last night's QVDs.

As a temporary workaround, I got rid of the Concatenation and instead refresh the QVDs several times through the day. I also, through the advise of a Qlik Support Engineer, changed the compression of our QVW from High to None. These steps have helped and we are now running most of the day without issues.

We still have an issue, however. 2-3 times per day, the automatic reload would still stop and the QVB.exe hangs. To free it up, we would delete .Shared, .meta and .tmp files and kill the QVB.exe from Task Manager. When these steps are performed, the automatic reload runs again, every 20 minutes for another 6-8 hours.

Qlik Support have not been able to resolve the issue.

Has anybody seen anything similar? Any ideas of what may be going on? Is this a known bug in 11 SR7?
