Use the user's name to load app data

Hi,

I would like to perform the following in a web access:

When a user selects a certain application, his user's identifier is used to update a variable, which is being used to load

the appropriate data.

Any ideas how can this be achieved?

So what you actually want is filter the application based on the user accessing it? If yes, this is exactly what section access is there for. See attached

Hi Ioannis,

Is there a possible way to prevent a second time of asking the user for User ID and password?

Another words: the user accesses via the web, and I would like to use his login details

for the data reduction.

After I add the Section Access for the data reduction (which works!) , the user has to enter login details again.

This is what I would like to prevent.

When you say via the web do you really mean the internet or the company's intranet and the access point? If it is the intranet then it should not ask for details again if Active Directory Windows Security is used. In your section access script, you use user id or ntuser name?

It should be possible with single sign on.. Pls go trough the attached document.
